In Memory Of
Sara was found along a highway. It was hunting season, and she may have been lost or abandoned while hunting.
When she first arrived, Florence said she was the thinnest dog she had ever seen, and she had a deep look of sadness in her eyes.
Sara soon put on some weight and became a lot more active. For a long time she lived with the other big dogs in the back room, but then was moved to the front room where she could get more attention. She was friendly, active, quiet, and very well-behaved.
Sara eventually had to have her spleen removed due to a large, non-invasive cancerous tumor. She did very well after the surgery, and had several more good years. But she quickly went downhill and passed away from the cancer.
Sara shortly after she arrived. Her fur was a much darker orange when she was younger.
