In Memory Of
Peanuts belonged to a young man who went to jail, and she was brought here by his mother. When she arrived, she was extremely thin — skin and bones — and was pregnant. She had her kittens, but they were very sickly, probably due to her own malnourishment. Several of them were taken home and cared for by Journey's End volunteers.
Peanuts was very sweet and friendly, but she had the bad habit of sucking and drooling on anyone who picked her up or gave her a lap. At first she lived in the Cat House, but she didn't like living there and escaped almost every day. She much prefered the main house, probably because there were more visitors to pay attention to her.
Peanuts lived to be very old and eventually died of complications of old age.
