In Memory Of

Coal

January, 2016

Coal was a short-hair black cat with long white whiskers. His owners didn't want to keep him because he had FIV, so they drove him here from Fort Lauderdale. He was several years old when he arrived.

Coal was a very friendly cat. He lived in the PeeWee room with Snowy and some of the small dogs. He had been here at least since 2002 and was in good health despite having FIV, other than having stomatitis (gum disease) in his later years. He was treated with the laser machine, which seemed to help, but eventually he had to have all his teeth pulled.
